Dale Carnegie said, “people rarely succeed unless they have fun at what they are doing.” After last week’s Bad Girl Ventures Cincinnati Unveiling party at Japp’s, I would say that both BGV and the Bad Girls are destined for success. Not only did the event showcase our newest group of Cincinnati Bad Girls, it brought together some of the original supporters of BGV. For those individuals who have watched us grow, Wednesday was yet another affirmation that BGV is continuing to reach new heights.
The evening consisted of a bad girl cocktail designed by the mixologist geniuses at Japp’s, swanky swag bags, and delicious treats. Guests not only enjoyed classic libations, but also learned a great deal about this exciting new group of Cincinnati finalists.
At any given moment you might have seen someone striking a pose for a photo by Amy Elizabeth Photography, sampling the international olive oil delights of The Spicy Olive (location to come!), or petting our canine visitor from Dogtown Cincinnati. On the other side of the room, you may have witnessed someone being wooed by Painting Angels (firstname.lastname@example.org) newest marketing team (the cutest group of kids you have ever seen!), sampling an amazing sandwich from C’est Cheese, learning the ins and outs of glass blowing from Goose Alley Glass, or trying on handmade shoes from Smart Fish Studios and Sustainable Supply. You may have even caught an expecting mom previewing the designs of Momadoc, a budding business owner finding the answers they need from KHBOffice, Ltd., or an avid hiker learning about Terra Strenua Outfitter’s back saving product, NXS.
The evening also included a special greeting from Cincinnati Director of Operations, Corey Drushal, words from our partners at First Financial Bank, LeapFrog Interactive and SCORE, a story from our lovely founder Candace Klein, and finally a plea for money from yours truly. That’s right, as director of marketing and development you always have to make room for begging and selling.
All in all, the event was a huge success, but it had to come to an end and it was back to work for the staff of BGV and the Bad Girls. Dale Carnegie also said that “you will never achieve success unless you like what you are doing.” The bad girls of BGV like what we do and we have fun doing it. Success is inevitable.
Rachel Czernin, Director of Marketing and Development, Bad Girl Ventures, Inc.
